What was the highlight of The Nest El Nido Beach Resort

Great location with great views from the pool and restaurant, staff are also very friendly and helpful.

The location is fantastic where it is a short walk away from El Nido town, but feels private and secluded away from the hustle and bustle. You basically have your own little private beach just outside the hotel if you don’t want to make use of the pool. The views are amazing! Staff are great, very quick and responsive to any requests, the complimentary tuktuk service too and from the town any time you need it is also really great. Rooms are big and spacious with good air conditioning.

The swimming pool was unfortunately out of service for a day of our stay and was also out of service prior to this when we had a look around prior to transferring here from another hotel in the area. The water didn’t look incredibly clean but improved once up and running.

Feels like a heavenly relaxing bubble within the busy city

Everything is very clean and cozy decorated, I felt right at home and comfortable in the room. Pool area is really great- stunning views and comfortable sun loungers. You could tell that the place is still under construction and lots of corners and areas still not done. The tuktuk ride to the town whenever you want to makes up for the not so central location.

The beach directly at the resort is really rocky and not very inviting for swimming. Breakfast could have been a bit more special considering the fancy level of the whole place and given the high prices.

It is a lovely nice property. Rooms are spacious and each one has a lovely porch. Also, Ernie is a great host. For everything we needed, recommendations, advices etc he was always willing to help.

Let’s say for half the price it would be ok

It’s a pretty new place..

Signing the house rules reminds me more on camping ground in Germany then on a hotel in the Philippines No chairs in the room, so no chance to use the desk to do some work No proper coffee only this disgusting filter d as stuff If you ask for nearly 200 usd per night, you should be able to offer real coffee, even for a surcharge Beachfront does not mean beach access so if you like to go to the beach, take a tricycle or a motorbike because from the hotel you do not have access to the beach It is still a building side…so hang out on the pool, relax and read a book … forget it, mister I cut all this steel, is to busy even Sundays

Bad value for money. Would not recommend.

The garden was lovely.

We booked this hotel for our final two nights in the Philippines on the basis it had a pool, and we also had seen the other positive reviews so thought it would be worth the splurge. However, we were really disappointed from the moment we arrived. The swimming pool area was under construction which meant the surrounding area was filthy and really dusty and workmen were there from before 9am. Regardless of the construction work, there is barely any room around the pool to enjoy it anyway and the beach in front is not nice at all. In addition, one of the neighbours was burning stuff for two days whilst we were in our room. This meant our room stank of smoke which followed us all the way back to the UK when we opened our suitcases. I appreciate that this isn’t the fault of the hotel, but if you’re paying £140 a night, you wouldn’t expect the smell to make its way into the room in the way it did. The breakfast was also terrible – the worst we had in the Philippines, which again was really disappointing given this is the most expensive place we stayed in. I didn’t find the staff to be especially friendly either, though that could have been because we were pretty annoyed with what we were greeted with. I would not recommend staying here.

The Nest was located a few minutes away from Town so great...

The Nest was located a few minutes away from Town so great pick if you don’t want to stay in the heart of town. Getting there is a bit tricky but they offer a pickup and drop off shuttle which was seamless. Rooms were big, comfortable beds and always clean. Staff were friendly and catered to all requests and queries. Buffet breakfast was fantastic! Highly recommend The Nest!

The pool was under renovation during our stay which was a bummer but the staff were extremely accommodating and offered us a discount on our rate.

By the third day it was truly terrible and I would of left, but they have no refund policy.

The air-conditioning worked. The view from the restaurant and pool is amazing. There is no view from the rooms.

Dirty, roaches, no wifi, small bathroom, smell of water treatment, noisy and thin walls, very expensive for what you get.

Nice family owned Boutique resort but overpriced for what's on offer. Overall disappointed.

Lovely family owned Boutique resort 3mins by tricycle from center of El Nido. Spacious room (none have views of the bay except the villa), comfortable beds. Average breakfast. Great view from the deck area. Very helpful staff. Nice pool - although small.

1. Overpriced for what's on offer. Renovations were taking place during our stay, with constant noise (sanding and chainsaws). Carpentry, electrical (exposed wires) and tiling work was being done for most of the day over the 4 days. This was not noted on property info page whilst booking. After complaining we did receive a 10% discount, but it was not representative of the 4 days wasted - paying AUD 215 pn. 2. Very few sun lounges with even less umbrellas - not sufficient for all the guests - first in best dressed. Plus umbrellas could not be secured propely so they flew off numerous times making it quite dangerous. 3. Horrible, bumpy and dangerous road leading to the resort with only a tricycle access. Hold on to your luggage. Note there is no real beach as it is a bay and the tide makes it very shallow to swim. Also: Low pressure shower; misleading Lio Beach shuttle information implying to/from shuttle by hotel, instead a tricycle drop off at public station with no coordination when the next shuttle leaves and no means of booking/confirming return time; Very poor Wi-Fi - but that's all over El Nido.

Lovely hotel for a restful vacation

The breakfast was great, the room was comfortable. And the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The Nest is a bit outside of town, but I enjoyed the tranquility and quiet that provided. Plus, it was just a short ten minute walk into town with beautiful views most of the way! The staff, especially Laida, were all lovely. And the food is great!

While I loved my stay here, I think it is a bit pricey for what you get. However, the owners are working very hard to further improve the premises, so I don’t doubt that it will soon have amazing value for money. It would be good to improve the insulation of the rooms a little bit. while I understand at hotels you will inevitably be able to hear at least some noise from your neighbors, i could listen to the entire tv show my neighbors were watching (and I’m sure they could hear mine!). This didn’t bother me, as it was always quiet when I went to bed. If you opt to book the shared van from Puerto Princesa to arrive in el Nido, please also make sure to book onward transport to the hotel in advance, if possible. I had assumed this would be done by the hotel since they had arranged the van, but when I arrived in the bus station, there was no one waiting. When I mentioned this had surprised me to the receptionist, she was very apologetic, so hopefully this will be better arranged in the future!
